After the Rhodes Town tour, you will set off to Lindos — perhaps the most beautiful village on the entire island. You will pass by several small villages before arriving to Lindos, which was one of the three ancient cities on the island of Rhodes.
Lindos is among the island’s most famous villages, and it is renowned for its famous Acropolis which stands 535 feet above sea level. The Acropolis offers breathtaking views and photo opportunities of the entire village, including its medieval castle. There is also a superb sandy beach and charming white-washed, sugar-cube houses. We must not forget that Apostle Paul also stopped at Lindos after he left Jerusalem to preach in Europe. Today, there is a small chapel dedicated to his name at St.Paul’s Bay which is a small bay next to Lindos Bay.
During your visit, you will take a walking tour through the labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets, and past the colourful courtyards and mosaics for which Lindos is famous. Ancient Lindos was the most important town on the Island and has been inhabited for 5000 years. After your guided tour of the Acropolis, you will walk down to the village of Lindos to visit the Byzantine Church of the Ascension.
